Most LY days follow a similar format: we spend the morning as a cohort with worship, teaching, and prayer. Then we gather around the table to eat lunch together and then the afternoons are spent working with a specific ministry area in the church. During the coronavirus restrictions, things have to look a little different and LY happens online rather than in-person.
LY runs on Thursdays and starts in September and finishes in the following July. Interns will work with one ministry for the year, helping deliver and develop that ministry. Over the course of the year, you will be given relevant opportunities to step out in leading within your ministry context. As part of the application, you’ll apply for specific ministries.
You’ll receive great teaching on spiritual formation, emotional health, leadership development, and partnering with the Holy Spirit. You’ll have lots of space to put the things you’re learning into practice and see God work through you across the year as you journey together with the LY cohort.
If you’re a servant-hearted leader who is ready to say ‘yes’ to the invitation of the Father to step into wholeness and learn to lead and live like Jesus as you partner with the Holy Spirit, then this might just be the year for you!

Through doing the leadership year, I have gained a greater self awareness and an unashamed confidence in who God has created me to be. I’ve started a journey of learning how to fully love myself and God has been releasing big dreams in the process!
– Emily Seaborne
For many years after this I am going to look back and realise things that God has taught me in this year that I know would have taken many years to learn in themselves.
– Eli King
God has taught me so much about himself and the way he sees me and as a result of that I have learnt loads about myself. This year has been really pivotal in cementing a lot of my head knowledge in my heart and in growing in intimacy with God and confidence in my gifting.
– Seb Davies
I’ve learnt a huge amount about how much my emotions and how I deal with them feeds into my leadership. I’ve learnt so much about leadership in the church but also about leading in my workplace. This year has been hugely instrumental in how I’ve carried myself in my job.
